August 19, 2017
This event, held every year on the third Saturday in August, features a delicious menu of Eastern North Carolina pulled-pork barbecue, cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad, a roll, tea or coffee and your choice of a homemade dessert. This is just a plain ol' good time to come and have some great food and conversation with neighbors, relatives, visitors and friends. If you don't have time to chat, the volunteers will box up a dinner for you to take home. Stay tuned to the Town News and to the Community Center Calendar for information on the next barbecue.
Occasionally throughout the off-season, local experts stop by to share their wisdom on various subjects related to gardening and landscaping in our area. These lectures take place on Saturday mornings at 10am. Check the Community Center calendar for upcoming dates and topics.
New for 2015, the Community Center Committee hosted a craft night. The first project was Christmas Globes and was a huge success, drawing folks of all ages and collecting canned goods for The Help Center of Federal Point. Stay tuned for information on future craft nights.
