Fire Chief Harold Heglar retired effective November 30, 2017 after a total of 44 years of service to the town. Chief Heglar served as a volunteer on the Fire Department for 29 years and as a paid chief for 15 years. We thank him for his dedicated service and loyalty to the town.
At a special meeting of council held on November 20, 2017, Council announced that the Assistant Fire Chief, Ed Kennedy, is promoted to Fire Chief effective December 1, 2017. Assistant Chief Kennedy served as a lifeguard and volunteer fireman for 5 years and has been employed as a firefighter for six years.
