This is official notice that the Town Council will hold a public hearing as the first order of business at the January 22, 2018 meeting at 6:30 pm or soon thereafter. Purpose is to receive comments on a fee for water and sewer service for new development to fund costs of capital improvements necessitated by such new development, to recoup costs of existing facilities which serve such new development, or a combination of those costs.
The Town was required by the state to provide an analysis for how this fee would be determined and the results are a total system development fee of $592.26 ($251.63 for water connection and $340.63 for sewer connection). State law also required a 45 day comment period, which was advertised and opened on November 7, 2017 and ended on December 22, 2017. All interested persons are encouraged to attend the hearing to be held at the temporary town hall located at the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area.
