Beautification Committee

Mission Statement: The mission of the Kure Beach Beautification Committee is to initiate, promote and assist in the implementation of programs of general community beautification in Kure Beach; to provide leadership and guidance in matters of area or community design and appearance to the Town of Kure Beach; to formulate and recommend to the governing body the adoption of amendments of ordinance (including the zoning and other local ordinances regulating the use of property) that will, in the opinion of the Committee, serve to enhance the appearance of the municipality and its surrounding area; to direct the attention of Kure Beach officials to needed enforcement of any ordinances that may in any way affect the apprearance of Kure Beach; to promote public interest in, and an understanding of, its recommendations, studies and plans and, to that end, to prepare, publish and distribute studies and reports as will, in the opinion of the Committee, advance the cause of improved municipal appearance; to request public input of beautification ideas and thoughts for Kure Beach; and to prepare and maintain an annual budget.

Organization: 9 members and 1 alternate. Established July 2002.

Town Council disbanded this committee onMarch 19, 2013.
