Marketing Advisory Committee
Kure Beach Marketing Advisory Committee (“KB MAC”) Charter & Guidelines
Appointed by the Town of Kure Beach, this committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Town of Kure Beach and the Wilmington/Cape Fear Coast CVB marketing staff, developing marketing and advertising efforts to promote travel and tourism to Kure Beach.
The committee elects a chairperson that will serve as the direct communicator to the Town of Kure Beach and the Wilmington/Cape Fear Coast CVB Beach marketing staff. CVB staff asks that all active advisory committee members have input into any marketing advice. The budget for the CVB efforts is determined by the promotion/marketing portion of the second 3% Room Occupancy Tax.
The committee is responsible for the taking of and distribution of their own minutes of each meeting with a copy to the CVB and the Town of Kure Beach.
Advisory decision-making will be tabled unless a quorum of the committee is available in person.
All meetings are to be held during regular CVB or the Town of Kure Beach business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-5:00 pm. Regular KB MAC meetings are scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Kure Beach Town Hall.
In addition to working with the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority and the Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau, the KB MAC shall work with respective town departments to help promote the Town of Kure Beach as directed. The KB MAC will work directly with the Town of Kure Beach to assist in other marketing endeavors as directed.
Marketing Advisory Committee – Need 1 full-time member
The Kure Beach Marketing Advisory Committee (KB MAC) seeks to fill an open seat (alongside 6 other members) to help advise the Town of Kure Beach and the Wilmington/Cape Fear Coast CVB marketing staff about marketing and advertising efforts to promote travel and tourism to Kure Beach. With the significant growth in funding over the last 20 years (from room occupancy tax), the KB MAC plays a vital role in identifying what attractions and assets these funds are focused on, and in collaborating with the CVB on how the funds are used. Our committee is very enthusiastic about contributing to, and shaping, the impact of marketing efforts for the town of Kure Beach.
We are looking for someone who brings a solid marketing or business background that can actively lend their experience as we continue to manage & protect KB’s brand, make sure funds are being used effectively and develop ways to measure success against the town’s short-term and long-term goals. As such, the KB MAC continuously works to identify and prioritize features about KB across 6 major areas to drive the overall marketing strategy: The Arts, History, Food/Lodging, Events, Environment, Exercise/Outdoors.

TOURISM MASTER PLAN SURVEY
The Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is working alongside New Hanover County and the communities of Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach to create the area’s first-ever Tourism Master Plan. The Resident Survey is part of Destination on the RISE, the planning process to create this 10-year plan. The CVB markets and develops the County’s and communities’ leisure and group travel experiences to improve economic growth and the quality of our area for residents and visitors.
Please take the survey to share your thoughts and vision for tourism in Kure Beach. Your input will help inform the plan, which will align tourism’s direction and development with your community’s needs. Please complete the survey, which takes about 15 minutes, by Monday, Oct. 28, 2024. The survey can also be accessed via www.ResidentsSurvey.com.
Why Take the Survey?
We would like to hear from as many community members as possible. With broad input, we can shape a 10-year Tourism Master Plan that best contributes to resident quality of life. The survey will ask your thoughts on topics like tourism growth, tourism’s economic impact, tourism’s effects on our communities, and short-term rentals.
Thank You
Thank you for sharing your time and thoughts! We appreciate your help and look forward to developing a Tourism Master Plan that reflects the full community’s views.
Sincerely,
The Town of Kure Beach
On behalf of Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau
