Assistance Available for Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Residents Affected by PTC8 
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has issued a disaster declaration, making low-interest loans available to businesses and residents in Carolina Beach and Kure Beach affected by Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 (PTC8) from September 16-20, 2024. 

The SBA will open a Recovery Center at 1121 N Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., and will remain open until Monday, October 28th at 4:00pm. Residents and business owners may also apply for assistance now by visiting https://lending.sba.gov or by calling 1-800-659-2955.  
 
Additionally, Governor Roy Cooper has signed a Type I disaster declaration for individual assistance for the counties affected by this storm, authorizing additional critical state assistance to support recovery efforts. The declaration is available here
