Police Department
The Administrative Assistant position with the Kure Beach Police Department consists of various receptionist duties by answering incoming phone calls, taking detailed messages, greeting the public and providing general information to the public. Work will involve filing, mailing, copying, documenting, and input of information.
Additional duties include Assisting the Chief of Police and Lieutenant with administrative needs that include maintenance of officer time sheets, supply, and equipment orders, maintaining accounts payable, creating purchase orders, maintaining accurate records and any other administrative assistance within the Police Department.
This position will require the Administrative Assistant to have strong communication skills and a good work ethic. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, I.C.S. (data entry). R.M.S. (Police Reporting Information). Applicant will need to pass a criminal background check.
The Administrative Assistant may be asked to apply for and write grants as well as become D.C.I. (Department of Criminal Information) certified on Module 1 & Module 2 to assist with running case dispositions, evidence disposal, and criminal histories for officers for court purposes.
This position is full time Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a salary range of $44,101.98 - $70,562.96. Starting salary and future increases depend on qualifications, experience, and job performance.

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND COMPLIANCE
The Town is accepting applications for a full time Director of Development and Compliance for the Development and Compliance Department. Salary range is $83,160.74 to $133,057.08 depending on experience with a full benefit package. Work week is regularly Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. General overview of the position:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the department. The person in this position works with the Town council, Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and various committees on planning and development projects; participates in Town-wide committees and task forces on decision making processes; communicates with developers, designers, contractors, the general public, and various governmental agencies on Federal, State, local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards to ensure they are met. Applicant is required to possess comprehensive knowledge of practices and procedures associated with managing building code investigations, review, inspections, and compliance measures to ensure development in town is maintained consistent with relevant local, state, and federal building code laws. This position oversees the administration and maintenance/updates to the processes and procedures associated with code compliance. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of resources provided by others at the local, state, and federal levels, works closely with internal and external customers on a regular basis to provide customer service on data management, inspections, code issues, ordinance issues, floodplain questions, etc. and directly supervises the Code Enforcement Officer/Zoning Officer/Building Inspector I.
- Possess or ability to obtain level 3 building inspection certification within 6 months of hire.
- Possess or ability to possess Flood Plain Manager Certificate within 6 months of hire.
- Possess or ability to obtain required NIMS Certification Training 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 within 1 year of hire
