Water & Sewer
This division's pledge is to produce good quality, safe drinking water to the residents and visitors of the Town of Kure Beach while continuing to improve and upgrade its system for the future. The water system consists of approximately 15 miles of transition line, close to 2,000 water connections, 6 wells and two elevated water towers. The responsibilities of our Water division are:
- Conducting daily inspections of the system, taking chlorine residual readings and following a strict guideline of procedures to ensure that the system is being maintained properly
- Repairing all defective fire hydrants that the Fire Department finds during their inspections
- Taking water meter readings each month from residents and businesses to ensure timely and accurate billing
METER READING PROCESS
Mid-month, Public Works takes water meter readings on properties in Kure Beach. Using the latest technology, meter readings are then transmitted to the Utilities department at Town Hall to begin the billing process.
BILLING PROCESS
Water and Sewer bills are mailed out at the end of each month and payment is due on the 15th of each month. The billing period is for the previous mid-month to current mid-month. If you don't receive your utility bill within the first five days of the month, call Town Hall and let us know.
