IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE FIRE CHIEF

MOTSU (Sunny Point) will continue their controlled burn today in Kure Beach.  The burning is expected to begin around 9AM and end around 3PM today.  They expect to burn around 85 acres today (see map below).  Although the winds are expected to blow East throughout the day, expect a moderate amount of smoke in the area all day and lingering into tomorrow.  The prescribed burning will take place between H Ave and Davis Road in the buffer zone.  Please use this link (https://www.townofkurebeach.org/news/important-message-fire-chief-1) for more detailed information regarding the burn and what to expect.
