IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE EMERGENCY MANAGER

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Kure Beach for Wednesday 3/5/25:

Key points from the warnings:
• Strong to severe thunderstorms associated with a cold front are expected to move across northeast SC and southeast NC (from west to east) during Wednesday
• The primary severe weather threat will be from damaging winds to 60 mph, with a few localized gusts of 74+ mph possible
• A few tornadoes are also possible across the area
• Wind gusts outside of any thunderstorms during Wednesday are also expected with gusts in excess of 40 mph possible

Please take today to secure items at your home and in your yard. Be cautious during travel tomorrow and treat any downed wires as energized and contact the Fire Department to report them.
